A small shame, but I guess it's fun for those who want to explore viable setups. Even though they are an integral part of the game, many people. You're essentially drilled to stick with the ones you've gotten used to. That’s it with canned enemies in Chained Echoes.

Too many party members that join the fray too late. It's quite telling that the game becomes much more fun when lowering the difficulty, since you're not forced to keep everything upgraded that often. This is primarily if you play on Normal or harder to be able to keep up with the enemies at a decent pace. In essence, you're almost forced to keep up with weapon upgrades and inserting viable crystals into them, but you're guaranteed to find the next weapon level in any new area you're visiting, which means you need to redo the upgrade/crystal combination stuff every single time. The item evolution balancing is off, especially in conjunction with the crystal management. Also, the menus here are surprisingly unpolished, with lacking information, buggy navigation back and forth, and tons of menu-diving for no good reason. Compared to other parts of the game that shows some excellent QOL work, the crystal management is an annoying timesink that ultimately detracts more than it adds. The crystal system is borderline worthless and is the biggest blemish of the game. Seriously, just the sheer number of unique enemy types and boss designs, with fairly little repetition, is mindblowing. It's a very addictive old-school RPG with excellent enemy variation, a generally good combat system, good level design, top-notch pixel artwork, and QoL features that are sorely missed in many other similar games. These enemies are often tougher than regular enemies, and require a different strategy to defeat. Canned enemies are encountered in groups because their attacks are predictable and repetitive, like a canned response. What an amazing game this is, especially for an (almost) one-man-show. Canned enemies are a type of enemy in Chained Echoes that are found in certain areas of the game. While the game does hint that he intends to do that, that is a story not yet written but its clearly meant to be hopeful.Īlright, just platinum'd the game, just shy of 40 hours in total. I believe Glenn forgave him because of how close they were and Glenn put his Faith in Kylian, likely seeing a mirror to himself and how he originally was, but his redemption would be something that happens in the future if he is able to harnass these new powers and use them for good and not for selfish reasons. I did not feel as Kylian is redeemed at all, its more complicated then that imo. I took June to be a possible manifestation of sorts from the power Gwayne, and now Kylian possess. The cruelty of that time, so many men and women, chained.left with no. No I do not believe that Kylian 'becomes' Gwayne at all. but each morning he also received a bit of vet-approved canned food. The child June meeting up with Kylian is clearly a tease that there is more to June then meets the eye. Theres the whole rest of the actual world in this game which we never go to and only see a part of on maps. Theres a lot of unexplored things outside of the Masked Man/Pact, its all world building which would likely come up in future games assuming there is one, or maybe DLC.
